Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova And Rafael Nadal Win At Wimbledon

Rafael Nadal beat Mikhail Kukushkin 6-7, 6-1,6-1, 6-1 at Wimbledon in London on Saturday.  The 28-year old took the Kazakh to school on the tennis court.  The Spaniard had to fight back after conceding the first set to the 6-year old though.  However the world number one rallied back to move into the gentlemen’s singles fourth round where he will take on Nick Kyrgios of Australia.  Roger Federer was also a winner on the day.  The Swiss saw off Santiago Giraldo in straight sets 6-3, 6-1, 6-3 to set up a meeting against Jerzy Janowicz or Tommy Robredo.

In the ladies’ singles, 2004 champion Maria Sharapova is through to the fourth round following a 6-3, 6-0 beating of American Alison Riske.  The Russian fifth seed will meet Germany’s Angelique Kerber in her next battle.  Third seed Simona Halep is also through to the fourth round after a 6-4, 6-1 thrashing of Belinda Bencic.  The Romanian meets Zarina Diyas in the next round.
