New Zealand Dominate Day Three In Sharjah

New Zealand lead by 286 runs at stumps on Day Three of the third Test against Pakistan in Sharjah.  The tourists resumed on 249/1 with Brendon McCullum (153*) and Kane Williamson (76*) at the wicket.  The hosts picked up the wicket of McCullum for a superb 202 from 188 balls thanks to Yasir Shah but the away side still reached 388/2 at lunch.

The middle session saw the addition of 100 runs with the loss of Ross Taylor for 50, but it was in the final session that the Black Caps accelerated immensely with wickets falling regularly.  Williamson fell eight runs short of his double century when he was caught by Younis Khan off Rahat Ali.  Daniel Vettori contributed 15 before Rahat Ali trapped him lbw.

Rahat Ali struck again to dismiss Corey Anderson for 50 from 57 deliveries with Shah taking the catch.  Rahat Ali was the best of the Pakistani bowlers with 4/89.  BJ Watling fell for 8 lbw to Mohammad Hafeez and there was also 50 from Tim Southee.

The tailender was caught by Mohammad Talha off Shah, who claimed 3/169.  Mark Craig was on 34 as the New Zealanders were 637/8 at the close to lead by 286 runs.
